cut it out: privacy policy
Last updated: October 31, 2026
cut it out does not collect, store, sell or transmit any personal data.
- No data leaves your browser. All the work of hiding feeds, Shorts, Reels and stories happens on your device. The extension makes no network requests of its own and has no server.
- What is stored: only your switch settings (whether cut it out is on, and which sites you have turned off). They are kept with
chrome.storage.sync, so Chrome may sync them between your own signed-in browsers. Nobody else, including the developer, can read them.
- Page content: on the supported sites (YouTube, LinkedIn, TikTok, Reddit, Instagram, X/Twitter and Facebook), the extension reads the page only to decide what to hide, for example checking a YouTube video's title to see whether it is music. Nothing it reads is saved or sent anywhere.
- No analytics, ads or tracking, and no third-party code.
